Consultant Plastic Surgeon
Physician’s Dip. (Rio Grande do Sul), Post Graduate Cert. (Plastic Surgery, Brazil)
Specialist Cert. (Plastic Surgery, Brazil) TMSBCP (Plastic Surgery, Brazil)
Accredited Specialist Plastic Surgeon ( Ministry of Health, Singapore)

Dr. Marco Faria Correa is a Brazilian plastic surgeon nowadays practicing in Brazil and Singapore. He is member of many national and international societies of plastic surgery that includes OSAPS, ISAPS, IPRAS, ASPS (America Society of Plastic Surgeons), SAPS (Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons), SBCP (Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery), SBMR (Brazilian Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery) among others.

In 1991, he pioneered the use of videoendoscopic methods in plastic surgery for body contouring creating a few techniques like Endoscopic Abdominoplasty, Endoscopic Breast reduction and lifting, Endoscopic harvesting of the rectus abdominal muscle. He developed a set of instruments to facilitate the use of endoscopy in the subcutaneous territory.

He has published more than 100 scientific papers and articles as well as conduced workshops, conferences, surgical demonstration all around the world to divulgate his methods and got many international awards for his techniques and contributions in plastic surgery.

As a General and Plastic Surgeon he has special interest and more than 30 years of experience in treating abdominal wall deformities like repairing ventral hernias, incisional hernias and rectus diastasis by using both open method and endoscopic method for muscle aponeurotic plication. Always attentive to the evolution of the science and art of surgery, since 2014 Dr. Faria-Correa is dedicating with great enthusiasm to bring endoscopic Plastic Surgery to the next level. Full trained as a Robotic Surgeon he is pioneering the use of Robotic daVinci Surgical System to perform minimally invasive muscle aponeurotic rectus plication in mini abdominoplasty ( Robotic Abdominoplasty).

ABSTRACT:

Video sharing Endoscopic Breast Reduction & Lifting , Endoscopic Breast Augmentation and Poland Syndrome
In this short videos , Dr Marco will show his personal technique of video endoscopic breast reduction and lifting which is best for treatment of small and medium breast ptosis, asymmetries or hypertrophy in patients who presents with good skin elasticity and no excess skin. It shows how a arthroscopic shaver is used to reduce the breast tissue. The Shaver works like a punching-aspirator. The tissue resection is performed under monitor control at the glandular basis preserving the anterior cone and glandular ducts. Functional and sensation of the breast is preserved. Sutures are used to maintain mammary gland fixed to the pectoralis fascia. The internal scar will fix the gland in its new position.

A short video on Endoscopic Breast Augmentation via axillary will be shown. The endoscopy method comparing to blind method of armpit breast implant brings advantage of fully control of the pocket dissection, homeostasis control and allow us to check the implant position mainly when using anatomical implants.

Dr Marco will also present a case report of Poland syndrome treatment with the harvesting and rotation of the omentum to help in the covering of the breast implant and at the same time reconstructing the axillar pillar projection of the missing pectoralis muscles.
